A new year brings new resolve to come together as a community and combine our economic power to facilitate charitable giving. In a time when so much seems to impact us negatively, this is an opportunity to focus on how we can positively impact our community and to have some fun while we’re at it.
Join us for the first meeting on Wednesday, January 16 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at our North Berkeley office. We’ll have space for up to 20 people and welcome your energy and ideas. The giving circle is an organic, community-based group and we encourage you to bring along others with like interests. We will provide drinks and light snacks.
Please let us know if you will be able to attend the meeting. RSVP to Maureen Sullivan at firstname.lastname@example.org or 510-528-5820.
More about the Giving Circle
A giving circle is a form of participatory philanthropy where individuals donate their own money to a pooled fund, collectively decide where to give these funds away and, in doing so, increase their awareness of issues. In our work with clients, we have witnessed how rewarding giving can be. We hope to provide a structure that enables a group of investors the ability to have an impact with their giving dollars and time, all in a supportive and engaged atmosphere. With a little help from us, the giving circle will make its own decisions about what areas of interest to explore, how the group will be structured, and how to invest the funds.
We’re excited about moving forward into 2019 with the Giving Circle.
